The Weimar period in Germany between the two world wars was a dynamic time for the arts. Max Raabe and his orchestra capture the cosmopolitan feel of German cabaret in the '20s and '30s with precision, urgency and irony.

Max Raabe sings the best of an era with amusing nostalgia: songs, hits and couplets; Cuban rhumbas; cheerful foxtrots; and elegant tangos. Songs of amazingly serious, amusing, yet melancholy simplicity.

Raabe, a baritone with an impressive vocal range, sparkles with his slick and witty delivery, and his 12-piece ensemble provides just the right backdrop.
